Practically Perfect Pierce :: Maryland Newborn Lifestyle Photography

Sessions with Mary :: Baltimore Clipper Mill Studio

Having a new little person for the first time in your life really is the most amazing thing that could happen to you.  Newborns are so fascinating to look at & to touch.  They make us smile & scared to death.  They help us become better human beings.  They bring the reality of life to a screeching halt, making us face it head on.

I remember staring at Anael on the bed and a wave of  insecurity & panic swept over me, while I was on a total happy high.  It’s crazy what these little people do to us. And as we all know, it never stops.  Happy highs with waves of panic & insecurity.  Oh, and some frustration thrown in there. :)

Pierce, you are loved.  You’ve changed your parent’s lives.  You make us better humans.  And we’re glad you’re here with us.

Annapolis High School Senior Madeline :: Teen Portraits Maryland

High School Senior Portraits :: Sessions with Mary

Baltimore, MD

I keep meeting the most amazing High School Seniors!  So many goals, dreams, and plans.  So well informed with what’s going on in the world.  It’s so exciting to hear them talk.  I sense that with Madeline – she is going places!  I know that whatever Madeline puts her mind to she will accomplish it. I think she get that drive from her mom (a former college roommate of mine).

We held our session at my Baltimore Clipper Mill Studio and surrounding grounds in the late afternoon with lots of beautiful natural light.

Cathryn & Joshua: Washington DC Dinner Party Wedding

Weddings with Mary :: Washington DC

When I met Cathryn & Joshua it was an instantaneous connection.  That initial meeting we had still resonates with me.  I was so blown away by their absolute commitment to make sure the love they had for one another was one that could handle difficulties any marriage can bring.  Not that we can see in the future, but having a solid foundation of mutual understanding for the differences each of us bring to a marriage is a great beginning. You have this solid foundation of commitment, couple that with the fact that they are so adorable when with one another and you have a truly beautiful couple in every way.

When it came to planning their Washington DC wedding, no stone was left unturned.  They created an incredibly special & unique day that was 100% them. Combine that with the talents of A. Dominick Events with gorgeous venues (including The Willard, St. Mathew’s Cathedral, and the Decatur House) and you have something quite special.  What is so special about this wedding is the absolute merging of Christian & Jewish traditions for the ceremony.  And the reception was a dinner party with longs tables filled with chatter & laughter, an abundance of fine wines & scotch, multiple course menu, hand picked meats/antipasti, and a live orchestra.

Even though it poured most of the day, it didn’t matter.  The air was filled with joy, laughter, and of course, a whole lot of love.

Here’s their fantastic Engagement Session held at Meridian Park.

I want to acknowledge the talents of Michael Tempchine who helped document the day with me.  Thank you for your amazing work & eye.

Kirsten & Jon :: Baltimore Maryland Engagement Session

At first she didn’t like him &

he didn’t like her.

Time passed,

life changed &

their hearts collided.

They fell.

In love.

Now they create

a path of

hopes & dreams

Kirsten is a beautiful friend & photographer ( ) .  We connected during our journey as photographers a couple of years ago and became instantaneous friends. So, I wanted this portrait session to be perfect, to say in images how I feel about them as people. Let me tell you, it’s so hard photographing a photographer.  I lost sleep over it. But, it’s because I love Kirsten & Jon.  They are such wonderful, kind, and caring  people.  They really do have a special kind of love.
