Julia & Steve :: Washington, DC Wedding Photographer

The tears were rolling down my cheeks during the toasts to Julia & Steve. This is a couple who had oceans between them while courting.  He in Japan as a medic, she in DC.  And when you see them together, you can tell how meant they are for one another.  Despite the distance and the time apart, nothing was more important to them then making sure their relationship flourished.

Two families came together to create a fantastic celebration with the help of coordinator Sara Muchnick from Engaging Affairs.

Church: Holy Trinity in Georgetown

Julia & Steve :: Washington DC Engagement Session

Engagement Sessions with Mary :: Washington, DC

Julia & Steve live almost 7000 miles apart. She in DC and he in Japan while he serves in Navy. You know there is a very strong bond between these two. This past week Steve was in town for a whirlwind tour of what will be his wedding day, as well as, an engagement session with yours truly (even with crazy jet lag). It was cold outside, so we stepped into the National Portrait Gallery for a peak at beautiful pieces of art and then popped into the stunning Hotel Monaco.

I’m so excited for for their wedding in April !  It’s going to be stunning and a ton of fun, especially with Sara Muchnick of Engaging Affairsat the helm.

Renee & Young :: Maryland Wedding at Gramercy Mansion

Renee & Young met at work and were smitten with each other quite immediately, although I think neither admitted to each other.  But, everyone else knew.  And so, here we are, the couple that likes to keep it simple (as they so beautifully put it during our engagement session) managed to create a simply beatiful day for both themselves and all their loved ones around them.  Rain was no issue at all.  Let me tell you, it poured.  So everyone stayed inside Gramercy Mansion all warm, cozy, and a little crazy at times having a fabulous time.  For me, it was like a little mini reunion because so many of the guests have been clients of mine over the past few years.

Thank you Renee & Young for your trust in me to document something so wonderful!  I wish you many years of happiness.

A special thank you to Wendy Hickok for all of her hard work to help create memorable images of their day.
